Stuperbowl Sunday

Well, the "big game" is finally over and the Pittsburgh Steelers got their 6th Superbowl win and it was possibly the most interesting game in years.  The game which was dubbed the "Recession Bowl" seemed to be more action packed than the New York Football Giants win over the undefeated New England Patriots last season in Superbowl XLII.

Either way you look at it that game we watched tonight was history all around.  It was the first time the Cardinals were involved in a championship game in 61 years, the Steelers now hold the record for the most Superbowl victories, Kurt Warner is one out of only a hand full of quarterbacks to go to the Superbowl with two different teams, Mike Tomlin is only the second black head coach to win a Superbowl and Ben Roethlisburger is the yongest quarterback to win two Superbowls.  It was not a lavish expensive event but it seems like that's what we needed to get back to which is concentrating on the games more instead of who's sponsoring what and everyone trying to out do the next company's billion dollar commercials.  It was just....simplicity.

Almost at the finish line.

Well, it is the night before Super Bowl XLIII and as a HUGE football fan I can say that I am Super excited to finally get this damn game over with.  I'm excited that the biggest game of the year is here but I'm tired of all the talk, speculation, predictions, arguements, etc, etc...  I've grown weary of all the coverage of the Super bowl in recent years.  I long for the days when they didn't have two weeks between the Conference Championship games and the Super Bowl and all the talk was quick and over with.  Well I wish the Arizona Cardinals all the luck in the world to go and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers since it will be their first trip to the big dance and this is old hat to the boys from Steel town.  I hope everyone enjoys the game and gets home safely if they go out to watch it at a bar or a friends house.  See ya on the flip side folks.
