Breaking News...

Good morning and happy Sunday to all! This morning as I was eating my luscious, fluffy buttermilk pancakes with my 6 year old and watching "The Sports Reporters" on ESPN a scrolling bulletin went across the bottom of the screen. "Boston Herald reports Tom Brady seen limping outside of his home." Okay..., if that's breaking news then I'd hate to see what happens when something really important comes up. Honestly I'm tired of hearing about Tom Brady's boot/cast and him limping and what not. IT'S FOOTBALL PEOPLE YOU GET DINGING UP!!! What about the other 100+ players on both teams getting treatment on a slew of different injuries...no reports on that huh? You people make me wanna puke!!! Don't ask me why I keep watching but I would assume it's because it's like visual crack and they are the only 100% sports dedicated network on the dial.

I understand it's the Superbowl and the Patriots are only one win away from being arguably the greatest football team of all time but what about the rest of the sporting world? The Miami Heat are self destructing, Isiah Thomas' son got arrested yesterday and that got swept under the rug real fast. I can't even find that story anywhere on ESPN.com. Ice hockey is becoming non-exist ant in the U.S. and everyone else is either doping or on steroids. I'm losing faith in the manner in which these so-called journalist go about getting and reporting on a story. Edward R. Murrow would be disgusted with the garbage which is produced on a daily basis from these "professionals." Give me and Tom Brady's foot a break and start doing some real reporting.

First Edition & What To Expect.

Hello and welcome bloggers and sports fans alike. As the "curator" of this blog I would like to explain a little bit about myself, why I started this blog and how I chose the name for it. I am a 35 year old Hispanic male who grew up in the NY/NJ area but moved to Southern Arizona within the past two years. My Father was my main influence into the sporting world as a child and he taught me right from wrong in sports and sports etiquette (the old fashioned way.) I root all out for the teams I support but I am not a delusional fan to the point where if I feel my favorite team is over matched I have the nerve to admit to it. I am a DIE-HARD Chicago Bears, N.Y. Mets, N.Y. Knicks and Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football fan. So, in a nutshell, even though I lived through the glitz and glamour of the flashy Dallas Cowboys teams of the 90's and the Deion Sanders's of the sporting world over the past two decades I was never WOW'd by it due to my "blue collar" out look on how to get things done.

The reason I felt I had to start this blog is because I am currently unemployed and watch ALOT of ESPN and Sports Center, which is a bad thing...very bad thing. I have noticed that sports journalism, especially ESPN, love to harp on the same stories and accentuate all the negative aspects of the story. It isn't until sweeps week comes where you get the "feel good" stories and even then those stories are tucked away behind all the doom and gloom. I honestly felt like Michael Vick was now a part of my family because I had heard his name so many times on the t.v. during the whole dog fighting fiasco it was like he was in my house. I am tired of all the bull crap we are force fed from the poor journalism produced by ESPN that I find myself having full blown discussions about the days sports reporting with no one else around but me. So, I have decided to blog it out and maybe, just maybe someone out there will actually read this and perhaps answer me back. The media likes to make up their own names for things like "Spy-gate" or "Pursuit of Perfection" which I find really annoying but I guess it helps them get their point across. I chose the name "The Truth About Sports" because I will tell the truth about sporting events as I see it or the average Joe may see it not the way some Ivy League schooled talking head wants you to see it.

In closing, I would like to thank anyone of you who actually sat there in your homes and read through my babbling. I will try to keep this up to date as much as possible but we all have a lazy side in us that seems to come out at the wrong times...hahaha. With Superbowl XLII coming up in the next few weeks I will try and put my spin on the reports I hear about on ESPN and Fox Sports News. I would like to say right here and now, WHO CARES ABOUT TOM BRADY WALKING AROUND WITH A SOFT CAST ON HIS ANKLE? It isn't going to make a bit of difference in two weeks when it's "GO" time. Way to make a mountain out of a mole hill guys!!
